Stronger Together

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month; a time to come together, show compassion, and support those affected by breast cancer here in New Zealand and around the world. Throughout the month, communities unite to raise awareness, honour loved ones, and stand in solidarity with those facing this journey. One of the most meaningful ways to do this is through events like the Pink Ribbon Breakfast, where we gather not just to share a meal, but to celebrate hope, strength, and the power of community.

A Morning of Connection and Compassion

Our exclusive brand Taylor Sport believes in more than just physical strength, at Taylor Sport they believe in the power of community and standing together for a cause that matters. This October, they were proud to host their annual Pink Ribbon Breakfast, bringing their team, content creators and community together for a morning of awareness. The breakfast was hosted in collaboration with The Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, with support of a local nurse who spoke to the group about the importance of Breast Cancer Awareness and why it is crucial for women of all ages to T.L.C, Touch, Look, and Check.

The breakfast was held at the event centre in the Welder, filled with florals and pink decorations, delicious breakfast treats and the warmth of community spirit. Guests enjoyed coffee, pastries and conversations while connecting with others who share a common goal; supporting breast cancer awareness and research. The event was more than a breakfast, it was an opportunity to listen to stories from those affected, celebrate resilience, and remind everyone of the power of coming together for a shared purpose.

Ribbons, Blooms and the Beauty of Coming Together

A highlight of the morning was our Bloom Bar, where guests could arrange their own beautiful bouquet of selected florals. As women gathered together their bouquets and shared stories, there was a sense of peace and joy; a gentle reminder of the beauty that comes from coming together, celebrating life, and supporting one another. The Bloom bar offered a quiet moment or creativity and reflection amid the bustle of the event, symbolising hope and resilience in every petal.

With a guest speaker Katherine, from the Breast Cancer Foundation, guests were taught the importance of breast cancer awareness and how their support can help the foundation thrive. As the BCFNZ is primarily funded on donations, it is crucial that Kiwis get behind the cause to ensure ongoing research, early detection initiatives and support services to make a difference in the lives of those affected. Katherine’s words were a powerful reminder that every contribution; whether it’s attending a Pink Ribbon Breakfast, hosting an event, or simply spreading awareness - plays a part in saving lives. Her message inspired everyone in the room to take action and left a lasting sense of purpose and unity as the morning came to a close.

Thank You for Your Support

We’re deeply grateful for everyone who attended, donated, or helped spread the message. Your support shows that when we come together as a community, we can make a real difference in the fight against breast cancer. Together, we’re stronger; in sport, in life, and in support of one another. Taylor Sport is proud to stand with the women of Aotearoa for a cause that touches so many hearts.
